18/05/2019   Intermediate Archers up to 2nd Class Classification

Posted by fred on 14/04/2019 16:22:00 last updated 14/04/2019 16:22:00

In accordance with the County meeting in June 2018 and as part of our Development Plan, the County has obtained a Development Grant from EMAS to subsidise a series of shoots over the coming season, to encourage participation for the newer archers. We therefore propose to hold three training days which are open to ALL adults who have completed their Beginners course and have not yet competed in tournaments or very few of them. The idea being to arrange short range shoots with the emphasis on enjoyment and team spirit, with guidance from either a qualified Judge or an experienced proven Tournament Archer, we will sort out the round to be shot nearer the date, BUT there will be distances to suit all abilities and bow weights. Medals and trophies will be awarded at the end of the three shoots to both individuals and clubs, who will be encouraged to enter a 3-person team for a team trophy. These shoots are aimed specifically at 2nd class archer’s and below.
The events will be held at Washingborough Playing Field, Fen Road, Washingborough, Lincoln LN4 1AB on the following dates:
Saturday 18th May, 13th July and 3rd August 2019 Attendance 9.00am to 4.00pm
Closing date for entries by 1st May 2019
Entry fee: £20 per session £50 if booking all 3 sessions together, fees must be included with the entry form
We feel that these events will benefit the County as a whole and help to encourage the archers to shoot competitions in an organised friendly fun environment initially, we will progressively increase the competitiveness over the 3 sessions with the ultimate goal of some of you eventually shooting for the County team.
Coaches will be present at the shoot to support you during the shoot and offer advise on equipment, training and other required skills. There will be time allowed at some stage in the day for a question and answer session. The first day will be very relaxed to give archers time to absorb the information, given and there will be handouts on occasions.
Adult Squad
In accordance with the questionnaire given out at the final squad session a number of you expressed a wish to continue with organised coaching through the outdoor season, we have taken that on board and would like to invite you to join us on these dates, where you will continue to receive support from coaches, also we will make best efforts to ensure that you receive the information requested in your questionnaire.
